Image Info

This rich, dark brown and gold jacquard dolman mantle is associated with the Nissen family, of Nissen Baking Company fame. A mantle is a loose fitting cape or cloak, and a dolman mantle specifically has a low set sleeve, almost creating a wing-like effect.

This particular piece is embellished with cord embroidery and long, dense brown and blue Z-twist fringe. It is lined in black satin. The back of the mantle is higher than the front, to help accommodate for a bustle.
