Image Info

Small diners such as this became popular during the 1920s and 30s as quick places to stop in and eat before going home from work. The train car design was almost universal during this time. Most of the diner buildings were constructed in New Jersey by a few companies and would have to be shipped out from there in one piece either by truck or train. Only a handful were actually made from the body of an old train car.
