The caption from the paper reads "The only really consistently reliable skiing during the past two weeks has been on the Mount Washington Auto Road. Here are four Portlanders ready for the long, steady climb to the 3 or 4 mile mark, after which comes the quick exhilarating swoop to the base. Left to right, they are Bill Simonton, Bill O'Neill, Bart Taylor and Edna Taylor, all members of local ski clubs."
