Image Info A young man wore the decorative regalia of his Masonic lodge when he posed for this studio portrait. His vestment and apron have been hand-colored in gold paint. The Masonic theme is evident in the classical revival style of the architectonic gold-tone mat. There were 96 Masonic lodges in operation in Maine in 1860, the most per capita in New England.
