Image Info Chansonetta Stanley Emmons captured a man grinding corn with a hand-cranked machine. Born in Kingfield in 1858, Emmons traveled throughout New England and beyond, documenting rural people and scenes. This photograph is likely part of a slide program she compiled to show audiences. Her daughter Dorothy is thought to have hand-tinted these lantern slides.
