Image Info Chansonetta Stanley Emmons frequently photographed relatives doing farm work in her native Kingfield when she returned there during summers after moving with her husband to Massachusetts. Born in 1858 she learned the process of photography from her older brothers of "Stanley Steamer" fame. This photograph is likely part of a slide program compiled by Emmons to show audiences. Her daughter Dorothy is thought to have hand-tinted these lantern slides. Dorothy is pictured as a young girl in this image.
