The map includes various property lines, description of commercial lots, and names of landowners, such as town treasurer and storekeeper James Lowell, who owned the town's largest taxable estate. Another notable feature is David's Mountain, which presently sits on the Bates College Campus (the college wasn't incorporated until four years after this map's publication).
