Image Info Son of William Bainbridge “Uncle Ben” Davis and Martha Jane West, Walter Davis was a well-known Monhegan Island fisherman. Born on the Island in 1865, Walter became Monhegan’s “king” of lobstering at the peak of his career in the mid-1930’s.
