Image Info Two magnificent Second Empire houses built by William H. Glover are visible on Middle Street in Rockland, in this view looking east from Braodway.

Glover built the house in the foreground for Captain A.F. Ames in 1874, and he built the house beyond it for himself in 1873. In 1926 Edward Hopper painted a picture of Glover's house.
