This postcard shows the buildings on Main and Elm Streets through the ruins and debris left after the Harmon's Corner Fire of July 8, 1911. The text on the front reads "No2 Looking from Center St." The burned-out building that sat on the southeastern corner of Main and Elm was two and three stories of shops and tenements.

The ruins afford a clear view across Main Street to the rarely seen buildings that stood at the northeastern corner, at 298-312 Main Street. The white building was home to the Joseph Stride and Company grocers; the small glass nook next door was barbershop of Walter Lane; and next to that was Varville and Company Plumbing in front and Joseph Houle Tin/Sheet Metal in the rear. Above the shops were probably flats.
