Volunteer Fireman Tom Leeman is standing next to the old hand tub and hose cart, equipment owned by the Monson Fire Dept., as it is on display at the 100th Anniversary parade for the town of Monson on August 24, 1922. The town had recently purchased a new gasoline powered fire engine but this old standby served its duty for the town for many years.

In 1877, Alvin Gray who was a Selectman for the town, purchased the hand tub and hose for $400.00 with town appropriated money. This piece of equipment is now on display at a Museum in Meredith, New Hampshire.
