Image Info Sarah Hamilton was founder of the Women's Educational and Industrial (E & I) Union, which established Saco's first kindergarten and vocational education. They were also active in the women's suffrage movement. She lived in Thornton Hall on Main Street, which was sold in 1912 to Thornton Academy for use as a dormitory.
