The intersection of Congress and High streets in Portland. Note the human-powered traffic signal in the intersection.

At left, with arched windows, is the Portland Public Library.

The Libby Mansion, at the corner, was demolished in in 1928 to make way for the State Theater.

The building next to it, to the right at 154 High Street was demolished in 1926 to make way for Emanuel Baptist Church.

The Little Water Girl statue and fountain is shown in its original location, next to the Libby Mansion on High Street. It was moved to Park Avenue in 1928 and to the Portland Public Library in 1979.
