Image Info A memorial was erected to Samuel Jameson Anderson of Portland (1824-1905), John Farwell Anderson (1823-1887), and John Anderson (1853-1911).

Samuel Anderson was president of the Portland and Ogdensburg Railroad and John F. Anderson was its chief engineer. The younger John Anderson was Samuel's son and is cited for being "a lover of these mountains and active in the development of this region."
The memorial calls the three "Men of firm integrity and purpose, loyal to their ideal and friendships."
