The Stoddard House was a hotel in Farmington operated by S.F. (Samuel F.) Stoddard. A prime location for railway passengers, the hotel advertised within William Willis' 1862 "A business directory of the subscribers to the new map of Maine." The advertisement read:

"This Hotel, situated on Broadway, in the beautiful village of Farmington, the shire town of Franklin County, and the terminus of the Railroad, will be found a pleasant and attractive resort at all seasons of the year. Mr. Stoddard, with an experience of twelve years as landlord and proprietor, is competent and ever ready to attend to the call, wants, and comfort of company in the best possible manner."
