Participation in the War Savings Stamp program during World War I was advertised as a way to demonstrate patriotism. Like Liberty Bonds or Liberty Loans, War Savings and Thrift Stamps aimed at raising funds for the war effort. Stamps, vs. bonds or loans, were targeted towards individuals with less discretionary funds as they could be purchased in small increments.
