Help with Cart, Pricing Images, and Checkout
To purchase an image, you must have an account and be logged in. Purchase one or several images by following the steps below:
Step 1: Add Images to Cart
Collect the images you want to purchase in your shopping cart by searching for images and clicking the ADD TO CART button or CART link found on the search results page, and on the detail page for each image.
Step 2: View Cart Details
When you have a final selection of images in your shopping cart, click on the VIEW CART DETAILS link on the top of your cart (top right of your window). The site will display your selected images, with title, contributor information, usage type, and price. You will have to price your images next.
Step 3: Calculate Licensing Fees & Provide Publication Information
For the first image, click the CHANGE OR CALCULATE PRICE link. You can then calculate the licensing fees by selecting whether you want a digital file or digital print.
If you chose digital file, you will be required to select your intended distribution — personal, non-profit, regional, national, or international.
Next, fill out the form to provide publication information, including publication title, publisher, author, and date of publication.
You have the option of applying the information for this one item to all items in your order by clicking the yes button next to APPLY THIS USE AND ALL PUBLICATION INFORMATION TO ALL ITEMS IN MY ORDER. This feature is helpful even if you have many items with slightly different information, as you can apply the information from the first item, then alter other items as needed.
IMPORTANT: After completing your selections, click the APPLY button and the price calculator will determine the price of the image(s).

Step 4: Checkout
When all images in your cart have been priced, click on the CHECKOUT button. You will be prompted to type in personal information (name, address, etc.) or verify the information that already exists in your personal profile. Then, enter your shipping and billing information, including a payment method and click the CONFIRM ORDER button. An e-mail confirmation will be sent to you regarding your purchase.

Step 5: Billing
Your account will be billed automatically via credit card. Charges on your statement will appear as having come from the Maine Historical Society. For billing problems, please contact customer service at (207) 879-0427 x217 or info@vintagemaineimages.com
Step 6: Receiving Your Image(s)
Once your order has been confirmed, you will be taken to the Download Area, where you can immediately download the high resolution images to your hard drive. Purchased images will remain in the Download Area for 30 days. You can access your Download Area by logging in and going to the "My Account" area of the website.
NOTE: If you have dialup or a modem connection, downloading files could take a long time, and you are encouraged to order your files on CD. If you elected to receive a print or have your images sent to you on CD, please allow 2-4 weeks for delivery.
